President Oligui Nguema Drives a Reshaping of Economic Partnerships in Gabon
Proactive Leadership Fostering Massive Investment and Accelerated Industrialization for Gabon
L ibreville, December 17, 2025 – In a display of dynamism and resolve, the President of the Republic, Head of State, and Head of Government, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, granted an audience on Tuesday to two major delegations: the Ciment d’Afrique (CIMAF) group, led by its CEO Mr. Anas Sefrioui, and the Chinese group HUNAN XINZHONAO INVESTMENT, currently on a prospecting mission in Gabon.
These meetings illustrate the Head of State's firm determination to rebuild economic partnerships on transparent, balanced foundations that generate shared value. While the delegations presented their expertise in the mining and industrial sectors, the President vigorously reaffirmed that the era of unbalanced agreements is over. He demanded an increase in the Gabonese State's equity participation in companies, specifically setting the State's share at 10% in CIMAF, in line with new government directives.
Highlighting national priorities-namely industrialization, youth employment, and adherence to timelines for structural projects-Oligui Nguema praised the pivotal role of the CIMAF plant in Franceville. Scheduled for completion in September 2026 with an annual capacity of 1.85 million tons of cement, this project is set to boost development in the Haut-Ogooué region and energize the local economy.
These audiences reflect a proactive leadership style, creating an environment conducive to massive investments and accelerated industrialization for Gabon.
